		<description>I intended the spondee(/ /) in the fourth foot. That way it forces the voice to slow down and does make it a bit difficult, as you noticed. I thought that it would reinforce the thematic meaning of their being a difference between the unlyrical harshness of battle and the lyrical battles of which older poets wrote.

I&#039;m not a huge fan of the accented -ed in general, as I find that it sounds overly affected. Although, with the nature of this blog I should probably embrace it more.
